Old Motors Club Malta is the biggest, most active and well known vintage and classic car club in Malta.
The Old Motors Club of Malta (OMC) was formed in October 1989 and is today the largest vintage and classic car club in Malta, with more than 300 members, with presence abroad through foreign memberships. OMC members own more than 1000 vintage or classic cars. The oldest car in the club is a 1904 Cadillac, reputably one of the first vehicles to come to Malta. The OMC has a policy of accepting cars on a 25-year rolling basis, such that today cars manufactured up to 1987 are eligible for membership.
Various popular makes are represented, the majority of which are British. To a lesser extent Italian, French, German and other Continental makes are also keenly sought.
Obscure makes such as DKW, Marmon or Goggomobil may raise an eyebrow but are also present on the Island. American vehicles, known for their fins and petrol-guzzling qualities are also quite popular. Lately we are also experiencing an awakening of interest in Japanese cars which are relatively rare.
The main aims of the Historic Motorcycle Club are the preservation, use, appreciation and enjoyment of veteran, vintage and classic motorcycles manufactured prior to the 1st of January 1976.
The club enjoys respect both locally and abroad and is well-known for being one of the most innovative and active vintage vehicle organizations in Malta. The HMC has organized 24-hour marathons in aid of charity, Exhibitions, Rallies, trips to Sicily, a Motorcycle Safety Riding Campaign, International Classic Motorcycle Weekends, cultural tours and others.
ELIGIBILITY
All motorcycles manufactured before January 1976 except choppers are eligible.
EVENTS
One of the secrets of the Club’s success lies in the "ride them don't hide them" mentality. Motorcycles were made to be ridden so the club's annual calendar of events includes various motorcycle runs, rallies, skilled riding tests, gymkhanas and club nights.
The HMC also organizes exhibitions where one can admire over a century of local transport heritage and motorcycling history.
This is a Club for enthusiasts of ex Military Vehicles both WWII and Post WWII.

The Malta Classic had its origins in October 2007. Then French entrepreneur and classic car enthusiast Thierry Giovannoni organised Malta’s first-ever Classic Car Grand Prix on the ring road of Valletta. This event brought to Malta some of Europe’s most beautiful classic cars, to tour the island and race wheel to wheel on the Valletta circuit. In April 2009 enthusiasts brought together by this event set up the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation to carry on what Giovannoni had started. In 2011 the Malta Classic was transferred to its current home in Mdina, where it celebrates vintage style and speed against a historical backdrop.
Malta Classic welcomes car enthusiasts, visitors and families to our historic island to discover some of the world’s most elegant and sought-after classic cars. Malta Classic takes place over four-days comprising three exhilarating events: the Malta Classic Hill Climb, the Malta Classic Concours d’Elegance by Mdina Glass, and the Malta Classic Grand Prix every year on the second weekend of October.
Over 70 pre-1976 cars participated in the 2019 Malta Classic, including some genuinely unique vehicles. Every year participants travel from around Europe to take part in this prestigious event
